In my eight years the Bux I’ve seen plenty of customers come in desperate for a good cup of coffee, heard their thank you’s and seen their relived smiles at getting their perfect morning coffee. But this is the first time I have had people literally seek me out to say thank you for the coffee. So many people I meet here on the ship say, “Oh, you’re the Starbucks girl! I’ve heard about you!” There were some VIP visitors in the other day that were brought to the café and I was introduced as “a real Starbucks barista.” Its been a great way to meet people and I am so thankful that I’m able to bless those around me in something as simple as a cup of coffee.
But its totally Starbucks camping. One machine in need of some major work (2,100 shots since its last PM!), one blender, old school pitchers, no cleaning tablets, and so on. But its really fun too, takes me back to when I worked the Huskey games. And we have syrups here we haven’t had in years back home… like Valencia and Cinnamon! I’m trying to figure out if I can smuggle some back with me to make Black Tea Lemonades!
A dinosaur of a machine but its getting the job done.
